Toyota gab heute bekannt, dass das Unternehmen bis zum Ende des Jahrzehnts 14 Milliarden Dollar in die Entwicklung von Batterietechnologien investieren will.
Der Chief Technology Officer von Toyota, Masahiko Maeda, sagte, dass das Unternehmen den Einsatz von Festkörperbatterien nicht nur in reinen Elektrofahrzeugen, sondern auch in Hybridfahrzeugen in Betracht zieht.
Toyota geht davon aus, dass die Lebensdauer von Nickel-Metallhydrid-Batterien der älteren Generation verlängert werden kann.
